save us all, tell me life is beautiful

Okay I have calmed down somewhat regarding Prop 8. I'm still extremely disappointed by it and feel rather betrayed by my state, HOWEVER, this is still my state. This is still my home. And I think I have found a new purpose, a new cause to work towards - repealing Prop 8. I want to stay here and fight for my beautiful home, because dammit us Californians fucking DESERVE equal rights. Running away isn't the answer.

It's a little strange that I feel this way because before I was like I WANT TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY AFTER I GRADUATE and I do still want to travel, but... I feel like this could be my calling. In any case, I don't want to just give up my politically active life just because the election is over.

Last night will always be remembered as one of the most wonderful nights of my life, though. ♥

Enough about that, meme time! Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] xenoamorist

1. Your enthusiasm and willingness to introspect.
2. You're too quick to be negative on yourself.

You're kind of hot
You don't post enough pictures of yourself

lmfao, what? Was not expecting anything like this when I posted the meme. XD But um... thank you? Haha, I don't know how to respond. I'm now going to be burning with curiosity over who you are. xD So if you ever feel an inkling to reveal yourself please do. :P

And just to appease you, have a webcam pic from Halloween:

You're excitable.
You're excitable.

idk it has its ups and downs certainly - being a blob is horrible but sometimes I think you need to take a breath? it's still very inspirational, especially that you went out and canvassed for Obama :3

I don't live in California, so I honestly don't know the exact details of what is going on, but I thought they had settled this a few months ago, and that gay marriage would be allowed? I think it is a shame that it turned out this way.

In 2000, California passed a proposition to ban gay marriage. In May of this year, the California Supreme Court ruled the proposition to be unconstitutional, and thus gay marriages were allowed.

Prop 8 was a proposed *amendment to the constitution* saying that marriage is solely between a man and a woman. Since it passed and has amended the constitution, the California Supreme Court can no longer use the argument that the original proposition was unconstitutional.

I hope that makes sense?

Okay, now it makes perfect sense. I remembered what happened in May and thought it was a victory, which is why I was confused today when I heard the news. Once again, I think its a shame.
