Why would I have to choose? At Santa Cruz, I get both in one amazingly beautiful package! LOL

This is hard for me to answer, because I grew up by the beach so I'm not particularly... wowed by them, lol. Could easily live without them. However, the perks of being by the beach is the WEATHER. At least on the California coast, living near the beach means great mild weather. I would in theory much prefer living in the mountains because I love love love forests, however mountains have much more severe weather, including, like, SNOW. @__@ I'm a little afraid of this mythical thing called snow, lmfao.

In short, it would depend on how well I am able to survive snow, which is something I don't really know at the moment, haha. I know I had fun in snow when I was a kid, when I visited Big Bear (a SoCal mountain), so who knows, I could probably adapt. So, yeah, gimme mountains :P

I wanna hear how you guys would answer this =D

I agree with you to an extent~ Until I was 10, I lived really close to a beach, so yeah, sometimes it's overrated. But since I've been away for so long, I miss them terribly. And while mountains are beautiful, I... don't think I'm the best person to live by them. Beach weather, if you nix the hurricanes sometimes, is way better!

I started out growing up near the beach, but then we moved away. I don't know what it is, but not matter where I am, if there are palm trees to be seen, I feel nostalgic and "at home". I love me some palm trees. xD The mountains bore me too easily. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Tree. Oh, rock. Tree. Tree. Tree... I guess you could say the same for the ocean, since there's not much there but sand, waves, palm trees... but at least the ocean moves, which is enough to stay entertaining. I can't stare at a tree and enjoy it--unless there's something out of the ordinary about it that makes it interesting. And yes, I also love the beach for its weather. :)

Okay, but I'm kind of disregarding some things about the mountains. It's not that I don't find mountainous scenes to be something beautiful. And I do enjoy wildlife, bird-watching, etc. But for the most part, I... am satisfied with looking from afar? Whereas with the beach, it makes me long to go there. It calls my name more.

I have no love for beaches. They are sandy, salty, have very little shade, and are full of half-naked people. My memories of the beach mostly involve the ocean being so cold your skin falls off, and sand being so hot your feet burn...right next to eachother. Tactile suffering, you can't win. I also recall with distaste coming home from a day at the beach feeling nasty, with sand EVERYWHERE, hair all stiff and tangled from the salt water, impossibly exhausted from running around and swimming, and sun burnt so bad that I'd have a week of crying and itching ahead of me. In spite of dutiful reapplications of sunscreen. So yeah, I guess I wouldn't mind living BY the beach, as long as I never really had to go there.

As for mountains, that'd be really nice as long as there was civilization very nearby. Or like, a city in the mountains like Vancouver or Denver. Though, as you said, it's probably going to be cold there...maybe if they were like Arizona mountains, that'd be excellent. Lol..I guess I kinda live in the mountains right now, depending on your definition of it.
